I have this pair of amber textured vases, 9 cms square base and round rim which I believe to be "Pala" vases by Helena Tynell for Riihimaen 1960s/70s, can anyone confirm that please? Thanks John

A little unsure about this one John, I thought the Riihimaki Pala vases had square tops rather than the rounded ones like yours, unless there are slightly different shaped versions around, I may be wrong. It also reminded me a little of the Dartington FT98 candleholders, however, on close inspection, the shape and furthermore the colour again don't look right. Sorry, I can't help more.

I believe that the Pala vases came in various sizes and colours and I was hoping that they came with rounded rims as another variation

I think Greg is right -- I checked the Laatutavara site, and they have the "Pala" vases in every colour and size for sale, but all with square tops >> Link

check the rim with your finger nail. If it is rough -> sorry no luck.

Rim definitely not polished so guess not then, oh well not to worry.
