Title: Beautiful cut glass, neodymium, bowl. Very heavy, but unmarked.
Post by: Mrs Sch on January 03, 2013, 08:35:57 PM
Hi, I have a fairly large collection of neodymium glass pieces, and I know very little about them. I'm hoping you guys can tell me more about them. I'm going to try to upload them in 2 batches...

This one is a cut glass bowl , 17cm tall, and about 24cm across.
The top is cut, but the base has a star shape cut out of it, and is rounded.
The glass is very clear and smooth, and has a tiny stone chip embedded in the glass of the foot.

Caithness again, the same shape and cut are shown on page 119 of Mark Hill's book on Caithness Glass (in photo of 1992 catalogue). Yours is a "footed fruit bowl", colour was known as lavender.
