Title: Ruby glass - help requested
Post by: marie anne on January 04, 2013, 06:53:08 PM
Hi,
I've been driving myself bonkers, over many hours, trying to identify this ruby glassware.  I bought it together so I think the plate is likely to be related to the glasses, but I may be wrong.  The 3 bubble stem is like Imperial Glass Candlewick 4000 stems, but the bubbles are more rounded on the Candlewick photos I've seen.    I've not seen the ribbon edged plates on my google travels.  I would appreciate any help!  for scale - the taller glass is 12cm/4.75 inches high.
Thanks,
Marie.

I might suggest posting this to the U.S. board http://chataboutdg.com/forums/
as we had 8-10 manufacturers in the U.S. that made ball stems. Ken

Hi Ken,
I've just posted it on the chataboutdg forum as "Ruby glass goblets & plate - Candlewick? Luminarc? "  The reason I added the Luminarc question was that on browsing the forum I found a link to http://www.candlewicklookalikes.com/ (http://www.candlewicklookalikes.com/) which showed similar glasses to mine, but in clear glass, labelled as "Graal by Luminarc".  I've googled Luminarc Graal and drawn a blank so still puzzled.
I'll update this topic with any info I get from chataboutdg.  Thanks for the suggestion.
Marie.
