Title: Cristal France Mark?
Post by: cubby01 on January 15, 2013, 04:38:31 PM
Hi All,
Anyone recognize this mark.  Acid etched into a large lead crystal vase. (The etch is very faint, had to composite two photos to get a reasonable picture.)  The vase looks modern but well made.  It's very heavy, the rim is about 3/4" thick.

My first thought when I saw the faint mark was Baccarat but then seeing that it wasn't I wondered if it was meant to deceive.

Thanks for the links Anne.  I wondered down that road for a while but didn't see anything that seemed to fit my vase.   Although it seems nicely made I think this vase is probably mass produced made for export fare.   Maybe the mark is a somewhat generic mark used for this, like the generic murano labels that don't attribute to any specific maker.

I did see a couple more representations of the mark...
