Hi to all you Glassy folks.
I have had this vase for a few years now and have grown to love it but have never worked out
where or who? Any advice or info greatly appreciated.
Its a nice compact ovoid form vase in a smokey quartz type colour standing about 14cm tall. The surface has frosted or sand blasted matt finish which has been wheel cut all over to produce
this pattern. Ytne base has a large polished pontil . I have no idea but looks a bit like some styles of WMF glass i have seen but never found a match.
Many thanks for your thoughts , scott

Hello
your vase is lovely. Please can you upload photos directly the board so members will be able to view these if your photobucket account gets deleted or the photos do. Otherwise the information given in the thread becomes redundant and useless to future searches and references.
Much appreciated :)
thanks

Oh dear !!! still none the wiser. No takers at all ??? somebody must have a hunch...

Wish I could help... :) but if itīs german indeed it never crossed my way so far. ???

The style and the shape look quite German to me, and that colour was quite popular there. My personal style hunch might be to look at Rosenthal (I've seen earlier Rosenthal vases in that colour, and with geometrical patterns).

Thanks for the replys any way, i guess its probably just another 1 off piece of studio glass which i quite likely will never know its origins.
Still like it though and will keep taking it out of the cabinet from time to time to ponder again.

My thoughts were German too, but I was wondering Ichendorf.
(The only Ichendorf I've seen in the flesh has been in TKMaxx. I know very little about German glass.)
It's rather a lovely thing, but my guts think it's reasonably recent. (They might be very wrong.)
