Title: Artcristal Bohemia Red Swirl predominant
Post by: nicky00 on January 28, 2013, 11:56:48 PM
Hi,

This is my first paperweight collected. It has a hole in the top

Can any one tell me anything more about this weight other than whats written on the label.

Thanks
Nicky

Apart from the period of manufacture, I think the label says it all! It is from one of the Czech factories that churned out similar pieces. My guess on date is 1970 - 2000. But as with any paperweight, what really matters is whether you like it...if you do, great.  :)

I doubt it was sold as a paperweight.  It seems to me to be an oil lamp with the wick mechanism missing.  They used to be turned brass but these days are often plastic.
