Title: Blue Genie Bottle / Decanter made in Italy....
Post by: mtmandar on February 10, 2013, 02:42:40 AM
Sky blue, 1.5 foot tall genie bottle with diamond cut outs and a tall stopper that ends in a roundish top - not the standard pointy one.  On the rubber seal (stopper) it says:  Correggio, Emilia (a region of Italy I've learned), and then it says something like:  Brevetto Gianco.  I've found stuff on the town, but nothing on the Brevetto thing - is it a manufacturer?

Sorry about the bad editing - just wanted to post it quickly.  Thank you guys....

The Bevetto part is the patent stopper. The bottle was almost certainly made in the Empoli region, Tuscany.

It's not cut, it's pressed, and with these bottles, the correct stopper is always an emulation of the shape and pattern of the bottle.
I like them. I have a collection on top of my kitchen cupboards - they make a lovely "skyline" sort of feature.

Yours is not the most common of patterns seen. But it's not the scarcest either.
They're really cheerful things - and they look great "en masse". :D

Not pressed but blown into a mould. ;)

Cool - not poured eh - blown INTO the mould - is that not that common?

Can someone tell me what the value might be on it?  Or, what this design might be called (if they named the designs)?

Thanks for all the comments, everyone...

All bottles ae blown into a mould so no, that is not really a unique feature.

And as for value we do not do value here. Value is a flash figure established at a sale and only valid for that sale. Check out past auction results on e-bay if you are interested in guidelines.
