Title: Bohemian? Old large pale brown opaline pokal? enamelled swan and rushes/flowers

Hopefully the start of a new collection   :) - managed to find this which is proportionately very similar to my blue opaline heron/stork vase here

It has an angry swan and flowers/rushes enamelled on it instead.  Fantastic enamelling, very thick, and size wise it's similar to the blue at 10" tall and 5 3/4" wide at the foot.  I've photographed it next to an opaline powder box to show the size.  I think it might have had a lid originally and been a pokal or lidded urn vase?
Very thick opaline glass, rings like a bell.
I think it is Bohemian?  - the foot is open and cut, bevelled and polished as is the rim.  The foot and stem were applied to the bowl.  It has a number 12 enamelled inside the foot.

I think your choice is limited to Bohemia or the US.  And I do agree, there may have been a lid at one time.

Thank you Ivo.  They got their own display cabinet this morning.  I walked into a tiny junkshop that is normally never open and has old fishing tackle in the window and there it was, stuck in a corner, an old ebonised chinoiserie cabinet.  Very happy :)

Mel, Rosie, I needed the cabinet (of course lol) as they've been sat on shelves in an upstairs cupboard for ages, so it was good to be able to get them all out.
Ivo, thank you - I'm plumping for Bohemian at the moment but no definite id or reason why, just that feeling.
Christine I've been pondering the foot - I have a uranium glass lustre that I think dates to around 1850/60 something like that, and is probably Josephinenhutte, it also has an open foot.  I wonder if at that earlier time many were made like that, or whether it's simply functional because it has an applied stem and foot perhaps?  I've not found anything similar yet but if I do I'll report back.

I think I may have bidded on this item, the decor and general quality looks wonderful. I hope you find a firm attribution, a piece like this deserves one! I would have been interested, thinking it Bohemian really. However, a suggestion from Ivo of America or Bohemia offers two options at least. One would think a museum of some standing has one of these in its archives somewhere! As you say, it goes well with your other similarly decorated piece... the cabinet is great too...

The cabinet is lovely, with carved and decorated cherry blossom and branches with painted birds on them,  all down the sides.
The flowers at the front are all inlaid and the whole thing is painted  with gilt and colours - doesn't show in the photo unfortunately.
