Title: Small Whitefriars dish?
Post by: junkhunter on March 03, 2013, 08:00:45 PM
Hi everyone, I own a very modest yet varied collection of glass, trinkets, objet d'art, and anything else that's tended to catch my eye over the years and has been available for small change.

I recently acquired this small oval, glass dish, measuring approx. 4.75" x 4" x 1.25" deep. It has a ground base and polished out pontil leading me to believe it may be a Whitefriars but I've been unable to identify the pattern and colour. Can anyone shed any light?

Thanks in advance,

Nigel

Hi and welcome!  :)

This isn't wfs - it's pressed glass. I would imagine it is Czech. Nice thing!

Many thanks for the reply, Sue. Regardless of its origin this little dish fits nicely into my small but eclectic collection so I'm happy, and happy too that I got it for free so I've no cause for complaint  :)

It's a lovely colour and shape - but I do hope somebody else might come along soon who knows a lot more than I do and can give you a maker or some more clues. We don't give up here.  :)
