Title: I/D for this heavy bowl Scandi ? maybe
Post by: malcmat on March 04, 2013, 02:58:06 PM
Does anyone recognise this heavy  3 .068 kg bowl with a polished out pontil mark and a signature. Its a lovely light blue with 6 indents in the rim.
8.750 inches dia and 6.5 inches tall. Could it read Stromberg ??
Many thanks
Malc

I'm sure it is Stromberg Malc,  but Astrid is bound to know... might be worth PM ing her and asking her to take a look.

Ivo's book gives details of the encoded letters which indicate type of piece.........T for a dish for example (this looks possibly like a T).       Looks like the highest T number is 377 for 1962 - so 368 a little before then.
Astrid or Ivo will explain a lot better I'm sure. :)

Hi Malc, this thread is by her and she has her envelope next to it,  click on that and you can alert her there to this thread....give her the thread url to help her find it. OK?

I was asked to have a look - sorry, though I have a few pieces by Stromberg, I'm hardly an expert, my area is more German and Czech. Paul has said anything I could. I'm not well enough acquinted with the different styles to be able to say which one of the Stromberg designers designed this one.

But it is lovely!
