Not Whitefriars. Krosno from Poland looks a good bet

I thought it might have been krosno and although they have designs similar to this one i haven't found an exact match, the nearest i've found is the whitefriars one in the attached picture although it doesn't feature a raised spout. They quality of the handle and also its positioning to my mind points me away from krosno... but as we all know, glass is such a mystery! Also the base of the jug takes me away from krosno... ???

Krosno has been making a vast range of glass for a very long while (a lot of it for department stores, etc.) and very little of their output is either documented or labelled. That polished pontil mark is fine. Your jug is still not Whitefriars. That lip is called an ice lip. Germany is another option, as is Italy.

0ooo i see, hmmm i'll have a look at a few designs, but there are such a plethora of places it could have originated from its going to be hard to narrow down! Off to google images i go!

Just had a quick peruse though google's best and the handle on this jug is veryyy similar to some of jugs out of the murano region, the design/colour is also not that far removed from some of the pieces that came from there. I think we might have a winner :)

Murano seems less likely. Empoli would be another good bet. Murano is not a region rather a series of small islands (pop 5,000) off Venice. Unfortunately Murano and Whitefriars are applied incorrectly to glass at least 75% of the time. The handle has no special features unfortunately.
As Sue said on your other thread, large jugs are almost impossible to ID

Ahh, i hadn't considered empoli, just done a quick search and apart from the base, the shape of their jugs are almost identical to mine (forgive the innuendo), if i were going to sell this on i think i'd label it up as such, i think that would be as near to the truth as i can get ::)

I'd only be sure about it possibly being Empoli - I would not label it as anything more than possibly.
You do need to find yourself an interior decorator, into retro-style. ;D
