Title: Caramel coloured vase with white ‘ducks’
Post by: brewster on March 11, 2013, 06:07:05 AM
This vase is one strange specimen. It is 24cm high by 10cm diameter and weighs 950g. The white ‘ducks’ and blue-to-black ‘water’ have been trailed on – not cameo cut. The ribs appear to be purely decorative, although they do help when holding the vase in one hand. The bright red throat continues all the way as an internal layer. That colour elicits sometimes ribald commentary from visitors. The glass is satinized inside and out (acid?) and has a waxy or soapy feel to it.

Where would such a thing be made and by whom?

I'm both fascinated and clueless, Trevor.
But I'm here now, to find out too.  ;)

A gentle bump after more than a year...

Anything that leaves Sue clueless is a worthy puzzle.

Clues, anyone?
