Title: possible Walsh or Webb amber goblet
Post by: Paul S. on March 11, 2013, 12:17:30 PM
sold to me as probably Webb, although I haven't yet found a matching  picture.        But there is a service by Walsh - albeit in Sunbeam amber iridescent, which this is NOT  -  shown in Hajdamach 20th Century Glass (page 125) which is otherwise a good match for both colour and shape with this goblet.                           I believe Walsh did do ordinary amber, so now not sure.              Height is about 7.75" - 195mm .
Unfortunately, this piece doesn't have a ground/polished pontil depression which I would have though it might  -  doesn't ring when flicked, and has what appears to be acres of manganese glow.          Has a moulded honeycomb pattern that I believe Thomas Webb did produce.                Anyone think it might be either Webb or Walsh, and thanks for looking. :)

Definitely Walsh. I've just picked three up and the colour is wrong for Webb - too amber. And acres of uranium  ;D
