Title: Isle of Wight Studio, But Which Pattern?
Post by: Wayne on March 14, 2013, 03:55:43 PM
Can someone help ID the pattern range of this Isle of Wight Studio vase please?  I've been looking in Mark Hill's book but can''t decide if it's "Ribbons", "Silk" or something else.

I am pretty sure it is Lace, a few more examples here: http://iowstudioglass.wikidot.com/lace

Lace (1988) was discontinued after about a year as it did not differentiate well from some of their other patterns and did not sell well. Note the similarity to much of the Royal Brierly Studio range - the design was sold to RB by IoW.

Cheers John, that seems to be the best match.  Handy to know about the error in the book too!  ;)

Thanks Wayne I had missed that, I had not read the text and only looked at the first photos, not noticing the RB photos either.  ::)

I think, technically, the design was sold by "Harris, Harris and Harris Ltd."
The company specifically set up to sell this design.
