Title: who made this?
Post by: SophieB on March 14, 2013, 11:02:09 PM
Hi everyone,

Now that the Ebay listing for this weight is finished, I wonder what it was (a Salvador Ysart?):

Might be!

What I can see of the the orange ground looks ok and the outer canes appear to be early Ysart. Can't see what the cenrtral cane is. The flower, with three layers of leaves, is better than I have seen in other likely Salvador Ysart weights of this type.

Cannot view the auction now, it has been removed when I click the link.

Could it be a Jack Allen piece - maybe from Oban?

I couldn't decide who made this from the image, the flower has a certain Strathearn look to me, I did try to buy it as but was just overbid at the end.

Many thanks for all the answers. It is interesting to see the range of possibilities.

We may never know (unless the buyer is a GMB member and he/she posts better pictures here ;D).
