Title: Sowerby sea green opal daisy block boat size query.
Post by: Littleblackhen on March 17, 2013, 05:16:40 PM
I have a Sowerby Daisy block boat that I am assuming is the one on page 24 of Millers Popular glass of the 19th and 20th centuries, it is a pale green colour almost opalescent in parts.  Sadly I don't have the stand.

The only difference I can see is that mine is 15.5 inches, not 14 inches.  Did Sowerby do a bigger one?

I will try and take some better photos later, at the moment I only have one of it at the auction.

My boat is 15" long.  The catalog illustration in Thompson states 3 sizes with stands 10", 12" and 15".

Thanks, that is useful to know.  So is it the 14 inch one that is very rare then?  Is the 15 inch one more common?
