Title: Glass Palm cup?

Found as part of a small glass collection, mainly 18th century.
A class cup, light in weight, handblown with pontil and soul. Glass contains some inclusions like traces of soil/dirt.
It measures ca. 4,5cm. in height and ca. 9cm. in wideness of the cuppa.

Form, coulor and structure matches with Merovingian ore Medieval so called "palm cups".
Only doubts I have; Are there any examples of those cups made as replica?

Hello and welcome to the board :)
I cannot help on the provenance of your cup as I have no knowledge of ancient glass, however to double check there is a site here that sells Egyptian bubbly seedy glass with wide folded rims (I have some).

Aye that is from Egypt and recent - well some time the last 25 years or so.

Thanks for your replies!

It simply already seemed a "to good to be true" story anyway when I turned it round and round in my fingers, wondering about the granes and brightness of the cup.
So. Not really a bummer ;)

The cup still is a very nice item to have, sitting as a replica palm cup between my Roman coins.
