Title: Help w/ Iridescent Oil Spot Ivorene w/ Red Interior Threaded Vase
Post by: snesbit on March 31, 2013, 09:46:01 PM
Haven't had any luck id'ing this piece.

Opaque / Ivorene style exterior with an iridescent oil spot finish and red threads.  Interior is transparent red.  Ground circular pontil mark, the pic of the full on base isn't great, some reflections (the finish is a clean circular /somewhat oval grind).  Fine contact wear on the foot ring edge.

6 3/4" h x 5" w

Came from an estate with some older stuff, French cameo, but that doesn't mean anything.

Vintage 1920's or yesterday's studio (?) any ideas.

Thanks!

This is a piece of Kralik, interwar production. ca 1930. You can see similar at this link, but with a little more complex shapes. It is a kind of modernist Deco era threaded decor by them.

Nice example......  personally I like the clean lines.....
