Title: MERITOR Bohemian glass lidded trinket pots.

Two similar lidded trinket pots, 4 inches high x 3 inches diameter, one in green uranium glass and the other in pale blue glass. Both bear a printed silver foil label proclaiming “MERITOR | GENUINE BOHEMIAN GLASS | CZECHOSLOVAKIAN”.

I can’t recall seeing anything else with a similar label, or any other pieces attributed to Meritor.

Does anyone have more details about Meritor, or photos of other pieces to share, please?

Now photos of another design of pot (in pink glass) bearing the same Meritor label.

Incidentally, this is from Anne’s GTS Mystery set 29 (and I attach a couple of photos of sets showing other pieces from the set for reference).

As soon as I can find my original GMB posts re. Mystery Set 29 I will add reciprocal links.

Any more info regarding Meritor yet?

Sounds like a brand rather than a manufacturer, so it could be a wholesaler

Having been directed to Marcus Newhall’s Hermanova Hut CD-ROM pre-58 catalogue by Anne following a recent query, I think that Hermanova’s #19230 lidded pot on page 2 of the catalogue fits the bill pretty well for the ‘Meritor’ & GTS Mystery Set 29’s lidded pot, and the #18699 ringholder on the same page looks very similar to the ringholder from Mystery Set 29 too.

I can’t find the candlesticks or the tray in the catalogue, though.

What do others think of the Hermanova Hut – Meritor – GTS Mystery Set 29 link, please?

Have checked my various GTS Mystery Set 29 photos and find that I have photos of a blue set where all pieces but the tray have a foil label bearing the legend ‘ME | CZECHO | SLOVAKIA’.

Is this a later incarnation of the ‘Meritor Bohemia’ label, perhaps, as Christine says, the label of a wholesaler or export/import agent? Certainly seems to fit in with a Hermanova Hut attribution.
