Title: PY sulphide?
Post by: SophieB on April 01, 2013, 06:31:44 PM
Hi there,

The bidders of this Ebay item must have thought that it was a PY sulphide to reach such a price, but was it?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310638989238?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

I would love to hear from the experts.

I am sure the sulphide was by Paul Ysart and the canes looked right too. If I had more spare cash I may have won it and then I could have checked it out thoroughly.

However, maybe not too many people will have realised that the tail of the swallow had lost its "streamers". I have seen a photo of the same sulphide, painted in slightly different colours, in a weight that Paul Ysart had in his home.

I also have a vague memory of seeing the eBay weight before - the form of the canes and the broken tail seemed familiar.

I thought it was by PY and was watching it too, hoping it hadn't been spotted but never got a bid in :(

Hi there,

Thanks for the replies.

I was not sure it was a PY sulphide. I had never seen this one before.

Still no regret I could not afford it anyway.
