Title: american or french id help please?

hi guys
ibought this a couple of weeks ago and so far ive been unable to find a maker but have seen some from the usa and french makes with similar scramble canes can anyone help?

Hi Joe.  I think it is probably modern rather than antique.  Is there some initials in the pontil mark, or is it just a trick of the light?  Is it possible to get a close-up of the canes towards the top of the first picture?

hi alan
ive tried to take some images that show the canes a little better,not sure its modern but im usually wrong and at the moment im favouring american and it will turn out its neither french or from the states, it looks like a rose cane of some sort on the forth image im hoping that may jog someones memory
