Whilst at Perth museum doing some research for the Ysart weekend being organised by the Paperweight Collectors Circle, I came across this ribbed mould used to make a type of decoration used at Moncrieff's by the Ysart's (the vase shown below).
What I would to know, how was this type of decoration achieved with the mould.

http://www.ysartglass.com/Moncat/PageStyles.htm styles 6 & 13-17 are all dip mould patterns. It is the stretching effect that causes the lines of the outermost colour dusting to separate out. Logically this does not work to produce the herringbone styles but nonetheless that is how it is done. Probably best to drop into a studio and see the technique demonstrated.
