Title: colorful glasses
Post by: yulia on April 13, 2013, 10:51:54 PM
Hello, dear friends!
I'm new on this forum . My name is Julia. I like to collect glass, but unfortunately I'm not well understand in it. And very often I have questions. I recently bought 6 glasses of colored glass. I understand that they are made in Czechoslovakia or Germany. How old these glasses? 70th or 80th?
I'm interested if they are hand cut or not? hand engraving?
I really appreciate your help, thank you!

Morning Yulia and welcome to the Glass message board.  Great that you managed to find out the maker of these glasses by yourself.
Ajka are indeed the only surviving works specialising in cut-to-clear glasses which they make in commission for a large number of other works as well as for their own account.

Ajka Crystal is in Hungary that we will visit (hopefully) in August when we do the glass tour to Vienna and Hungary. If anyone is interested in the tour send Gaby or me a line.
