does anyone know if monart shape P19 lamp base came with glass shade or was made for a parchment shade? anyone have picture of complete item
-
P 19 was used for both types (ie glass and parchment shade).
Below is an image from the Monart lighting catalogue showing P19 and complete P19 lamp with glass shade S22. Image by kind permission Taylors auction house.
I have an image of a P19 for parchment shade (minus parchment shade), though I can not post it for copyright reasons.

thanks for the pics, i wondered if it was used for both types of shade. do you think that the smaller size was for glass shade and the taller for parchment? just wondering as i see on your pic of the drawing it mentions about the fitting for glass shade on the smaller size, also i have sent you am email through this site could you check to see if you recieved it please

The wider necks were for parchment shades fittings and the thinner necks were for glass shades fittings. The first type of glass shade and bulb holder was made by a firm called Ramsay and was superceded circa 1930 by the Krink's glass shade and bulb holder. I have no info who made shade and bulb holder for parchment type lamps. The third image is of a parchment type shade and bulb holder. Poor quality of image due to basic phone camera.
No message there Gary, I had trouble before when chopin-liszt tried to email me thru GMB.
