Can anyone tell me what make this bowl is?

At a glance, it looks maybe Canadian (maybe Lorraine), then less likely maybe Italy or Japan, my instincts say not Czech. Not super helpful I know!

Hello and welcome to the board. I've tweaked your photo slightly to remove the excess white space and make it slightly bigger - hopefully this will make it easier to see the bowl. Could you add a picture of the way the base is finished as well please, and some dimensions would also be useful. Thanks.

Hi, I did not notice it was a new member. Welcome. This is hand made glass, shaped by a glassmaker with tools when the glass is still hot. Quite a nicely made piece. It looks like it weighs quite a bit. These multi-coloured pieces can be difficult to attribute, as several countries made similar pieces. Several people may reply with ideas and you can make what sense you can from what people say. I just didn't feel the colour was quite right for Czech factories but someone may prove me wrong!! A nice piece of glass to start visiting the board with!

It's about 18cm x 17cm and 12cm at it's highest point and weighs 937 grams

I also have another one that i believe is from the same maker which is 47cm x 47cm and 15cm high and weighs 2990g

I don't think either is Lorraine Glass from Canada or Chalet, for that matter. From the base, it looks more like Murano, as does the second piece. I should add that I'm posting late at night and I could be way off.

Thanks David, now that you have said that it does ring bells with me. My dad did say years ago what they were but i have forgotten although I'm sure I remember it began with M!!! :)
