not too sure but could this be a perthshire weight?

Yes, Perthshire Paperweighst PP4.

Needs info about the base and ground colour to decide its age.

Assuming the base is hollow ground rather than flat ground, then it was made from 1972 to 1992.

If the base is actually flat ground then it is very unusual.

Kev it has a slight concaved base, if thats the correct word to use

Good. That's how it should be for the period I gave (all info from the Mahoney & McClanahan PP book).
