Title: Holmegaard (?) Smoke Glass Decanter - Nice Design
Post by: horochar on May 01, 2013, 11:48:59 AM
I found one reference to this really nice unsigned decanter on the internet as being Holmegaard by Per Lutken.  I'm hoping for more positive confirmation as to designer and manufacturer.

Thanks,
Charles

What more do you want?

Pretty cool.  Thanks. The only thing more I'd like is to get that white residue on interior to not be their. Too many old decanters seem to be damaged this way due to misuse.

Tricky, if it is a build up of limescale it will come off but the pitting caused by water staining would either need to be polished or acid dipped.

My local dealer has similar Orrefors one with black glass base, it is signed. I won't pay his asking price as it has quite nasty limescale. Lovely things though, I like decanters but can't move them on when I need to, Caithness being the exception.
