Title: Skrdlovice Jan Baranek? ID = Kosta, designed by Elis Bergh
Post by: chriscooper on May 20, 2013, 04:35:58 PM
Don't be fooled by the photo it's huge at 2.6kg lovely lilac shade.
Not sure if it's wishful think but the 'signature' looks like JB 3563 or maybe just a pattern code B 3563?
Thanks for looking.
Chris

Made by Kosta, designed by Elis Bergh who worked at Kosta from 1929 to 1950.

You know something John I initially thought Kosta or Orrefors with the style of signature but that colour and style shouted  ' it's got to be Czech and convinced myself it was a stylised back to back JB'

It is a fine bit of glass Chris and probably 60 or more years old. Much bigger than this more ordinary blue one.

Forget to add, thank you for the positive ID. It is a nice colour and not one I would have associated with Kosta at all. 8" across with 12 lobes/petals.
The sad bit is the postage will probably out weigh it's worth.  :)
