Title: Not Dino Martens ??????
Post by: incazzatonero on May 31, 2013, 07:43:55 PM
On ebay runs this large bowl:
http://www.ebay.de/itm/221232312889?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649
I always saw similar bowls described as Dino Martens, but the seller means not.
Does anybody know the book he speak about?

I don't see a book mentioned. Can you give us the title? The only place I see bowls like attributed to Dino Martens is on eBay. So not by Dino.

There have been some modifications to the text so perhaps someone has raised a query and corrections already made???

The seller is right. It is not Martens. I don't think there are any texts that have these are Martens (or not Martens). I'm not sure how the seller knows it's AVeM without some sort of label or reference. Maybe it's AVeM -- hard to know for sure.

Oh, I know the books (or books) the seller is referring to. Leslie Pina in her book on 20th Century Glass mentioned a tutti frutti design was thought to be from Dino Martens. I believe she got this mistake from one that was made in a book by Judith Miller -- not sure if this last book is correct. The seller was referring to the Pina book.
