Title: Help needed to identify large vase with external strapping

Hi... Can anybody please help me identify this very large amber and clear vase with external strapping... Vase has a deeply polished smooth pontil below and measures 560mm tall... Has a Mdina feel to it but with no markings.... Any help would be greatly appreciated.... David :)

Definitely not Mdina, all I could add though is a vague 'it looks modern' kind of statement.
