Title: Is this sugar bowl (decorated with a ‘T-key’ pattern) by Davidson?
Post by: agincourt17 on June 17, 2013, 06:58:29 PM
Photos of a clear, pressed glass, footed sugar bowl that I suspect may be by Davidson of Gateshead, though unmarked.

(Permission for the re-use of these images on GMB granted by Jane Morris).

The top and bottom borders of the bowl are vertically reeded (or are they small gadroons?), and the stippled sides of the bowl are decorated with a single row of clear impressed  ‘T-keys’.

Tony Hayter shows a footed creamer in purple slag glass at
http://1st-glass.1st-things.com/gallery-slag/slides/purple-slag-glass-creamer.html (http://1st-glass.1st-things.com/gallery-slag/slides/purple-slag-glass-creamer.html)
the bowl having very similar decoration to the clear sugar bowl. Tony attributes the creamer to Davidson, but doesn’t indicate if it is marked or not.

Can anyone confirm that both these pieces are, in fact, by Davidson? If so, can anyone tell me the pattern number(s), please?

Does anyone have patterns of other pressed glass pieces decorated with this ‘T-key’ pattern to show?

Fred

Also re-attached are 2 photos of the 'T-key' footed bowl that appear to have gone AWOL from the opening post.
