That Paraati vase was a good find, they are thin on the ground. Great design too. 8)

Thanks John,i thought members would wonder about the green Karhula vase or even the white
tapio wirkkala vase but now you come to mention it i don't think i have seen another paraati vase offered for sale.
have been collecting Finnish glass for about 15 years,no major stunners but a decent cross section.
all the best.

What can you tell me about the square blue vase? What are its dimensions and do you have a factory for it? I have a similar vase with a ground out pontil similar to the Whitefriars pontil but not exactly circular.
Thanks Bruce

hello bruce, i am in finland at the moment so can not help with the dimensions.
the vase is designed by kaj franck and produced by nuutajarvi.
i am sure this vase has a flat base and is signed nuutajarvi notsjo.
kaj franck was a very interesting designer who did not allways put his name on the glass.
am hoping to get to the nuutajarvi factory next week,i think it is closing down soon.
hope this is of some use.

Sounds like it is not the same as mine but thanks anyway. I have found one reference which suggests mine may be Empoli so perhaps?
