I found this a a local charity shop but unfortunately didn't have any money on me >:(
They did let me take a couple of pics though as I said I will come back in the morning, I could not read the mark at all and unfortunately the pic is not great either but maybe someone here can?
From memory it begins with a M or N and below the name I think it had D1 or D2.

Pretty sure it reads Mdina from Malta.
Next time you have a signature to take I suggest using a very shallow angle so the base comes out light and the signature comes out black. It takes the pattern and colour out of the equation and can make it very clear. The two attached photos show and example using a Kosta vase I own.

It's certainly a Mdina'ery/Mtarfa'ery shape

Agreed, decidedly a Maltese glass shape, Mdina or Mtarfa are most likely.

Thanks. I agree about the shape but the signature was not like any I have seen from Malta. The vase, although not evident in this pic, had a number of small jewelled like, colour inclusions, again, I have not personlly seen this before either. As for the pictures I blame my ipad, that was the only angle I could achieve focus lock!
