Title: Blue / clear bubble based vase for ID - = probably Aseda
Post by: dorry on June 22, 2013, 01:44:25 PM
Hi there, i am quite new to glass collector and I wondered if anyone could help me identify this vase. I thought it was a Tapio 1960's? it has a bubble with a hole in the bottom, but has no signature, any ideas please

It is 8 inches high and 1 1/2 inches across the bottom

Take a look at this thread http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php?topic=39337.0

It's not a Tapio 3586 model that is a more dusty shade of blue & has a larger diameter. Does the vase taper? It's hard to tell from your photo. If it does then Åseda is a candidate.

You're welcome!
If you are collecting Scandinavian glass I strongly recommend investing in the Schiffer books Smoke & Ice and Fire & Sea by Lorenzo Vigier & Leslie Piņa, Creative Energies by Bill Geary (there is some duplicates between this and the Vigier, Piņa books as they are from the same publisher) &  Ivo Haantra's Miller's: Glass Fact File A-Z: Pocket Fact File (Miller's Pocket Fact File).

BTW Welcome to the board!

thank you great welcome. my hubby and I started collecting glass 6 months ago when we went to a local vintage fair and bought some riihimaki's from a dealer  ;D, since then we have both been addicted to looking round charity shops and car boot sales for some. I bought the aesda one for 99 p  ;D

thank yo u for advice on books, i think we are going to definitely need some references as we intend to buy more  :P

will post photos of our growing collection! lol
