Title: ID help for pair of bark vases

Both stand 7x3 inches tall.  They look alike, but one has a pontil on base while the other is smooth. Also, one has a thicker inner white casing. Perhaps, one is older than the other? Hoping someone here might recognize. Thnx for looking.

I think these have been on the board before, Japan springs to mind from memory.
