Title: Murano?
Post by: Nick77 on July 05, 2013, 02:51:20 PM
I acquired this assuming it to be Murano but I cannot find any with similar canes so far, any ideas as to maker?
its 85mm diameter 60mm high.

Thanks
Nick

My totally gut guess would be that it wasn't Murano

Hi Nick.  I think it is Murano, but from the 1950s - 1960s.  Not sure which factories were making paperweights then.

Thanks both for your replies, to me it does look and feel Murano with uneven length canes and flat base I just can't  find anything with similar canes which made me question it.

Yes, Murano 50s / 60s.

I have one with the same type of canes (and one cane is identical). This one was mentioned here back in 2008 and was at one time thought to be Vasart.

Thanks Kevin, that's the first weight I've seen with any of the same canes, did you ever find the maker of yours?
