Title: Question as to Who made these vases
Post by: Antiqueprices on July 07, 2013, 11:48:36 PM
I am new to this site and would like an opinion about these paired vases......The either belonged to an old german who was my patient till he died at the age of 103 or they were my cousins who died in the mid 90's.  The old german man willed his entire estate to my cousin and she willed her estate to some family members and i got this from the estate.  It seems to be cased from clear, to blue to white with a dark red top.  The pontil is rough and i do not have a photo of it...I was told that it is a current chinese reproduction, however they have to be older as i got them as stated above...anyway would love to know who made them.  My first impression was stevens and williams but suspect I am wrong....thanks for anyones input...

If I am not mistaken these are Chinese and were produced in the 1970's. They are sold on ebay as Victorian glass all the time.

Welcome to the Glass Message Board. These are indeed vases made by the Dalian light industries corporation in China some time in the 1970s - 1990s.  It is not a reproduction because there is no original to reproduce.

Yours are, however, an unusual variation on a theme.
