I am having trouble identifying this. Please help!

Looks like it could be for watering plants, when filled full of water and then placed upside down with the stem in the soil the water drips out very slowly, watering the plant over an extended period. Useful if you go away on holiday.
I have two colourful boxed examples lying around somewhere...

Found them, the thin neck cut at a slant are common features.

Thanks to both of you. I am not sure because the base is flattened - it looks like it was made to stand upright but it does look exactly the same! Question answered!

Ian, I think John is probably right but All the watering globes I've seen have been quite colorful, and have fairly long necks. It doesn't look quite like any I've seen (not that means a whole lot).
In my initial look yesterday I assumed it to be larger than a watering globe. What is the size yours; diameter of body, diameter of neck, height? When size is not evident from the photos, measurements make ID a bit easier.

The base is 6cm in diameter, the maximum width is 12cm and the height to the base of the neck is 11cm. The neck is 10.5cm x 1,5cm at its base tapering to 1.2cm. Thanks for your interest.
