Title: ID Help for heavy frosted crystal ashtray
Post by: Alton11 on July 14, 2013, 03:22:00 AM
Not expecting it to be valuable, but it was only $2 and feels like a quality piece. Is 7.5 inches long X 2 inches tall, and  weighs in at 3.5 Lbs
Ashtrays not usually my thing, but it appears to be vintage. Thnx for looking.

The technique seems to be different. Your ashtray is pressed, then satinated. I would sooner look in the direction of Barolac or Peill & Pützler.

I don't recognize it as such, but a German origin is very likely. If it's Peill, it's not a design or piece I have seen before, but it still could be (though most P&P pieces are marked with a double P).

But even more likely, it could be from one of the many smaller German glass factories that used satinated techniques.
