I found this vase and the more I look at it the more I like it! I would like to ID it if possible so any help would be appreciated. I am just learning about glass so my terminology might be wrong, please do correct it as that is why I'm here, to learn!
First off, what shape would you say it is?
And am I right in saying it is 'cased' glass with a pulled feather design? And is it Sommerso?
Inside is white but how would you describe outside colour? Burgundy? Aubergine? Amethyst?
It is 127cm high and nearly 1.4kg in weight so a nice chunky number.
I love investigating finds, it's like being a detective!
Many thanks for looking.
Regards

It is not a pulled feather design as I understand it. The pull needs to be done in both directions (see photos). It is cased in clear which is evident from the base clear glass. The outer colour I would describe as a dark amethyst. If it gets thick enough it seems to be a black in most cases. Sommerso(?) I never seem to get right those more au fait will tell you.
I can't quite believe it is 127cms high (that ie 4'2" in the old measures), I suspect you meant 127mms = 5" in the old measures.

Haha what I actually meant was 27cms, must have hit the 1 key too. So it's fairly tall. Yes, the base is almost black. Thanks for info on the pulled feather. Learning, all the time!
