Hoping someone may recognise the signature on this modest little blue vase which has evaded recognition for far to long!
Signed to the base and followed by the date '96'
The bottom half of the body is rounded, leading to a square top section and rim, which has been fire polished.
Measures 8cm tall and weighs 148 grams.
It originally came with some other Scandinavian glass, so perhaps this may help or alternatively just be a complete red herring!
Thanks for any thoughts. :)

Suhajek?

That's a heart-stopping suggestion! I certainly hope so, Greg. It's a pretty little thing. I was a bit stuck, had a brief ponder on Motzfeldt but then I enlarged your images and saw the writing... and stayed schtum.

Thanks both for taking a look. :)
I did originally think it may be Suhajek, although still not completely sure. The style is also different to the scripting on my Suhajek goblet, which I have attached a picture of below. I suppose there could be a degree of variation in the signatures due to the time differences. I'm finding the third from last letter particularly tricky to ready on the small blue vase.
I'll try emailing Jiri Suhajek through his website to see if he will confirm either way.

Not convinced Greg his signature does not seem to vary much and always the 'k' is loopy like an 'R' a lower case 'e' and cannot even see the loopy 'j' in the first one unless of course he was just having an off day.

Thanks for taking a look Chris. Certainly a bit of a mystery this one, I think that's probably why it went back on the shelf originally. Hopefully time will tell.
