Title: Frosted Pressed Glass Bowl with Pansies/Anenomes Pattern, Possibly French Deco?
Post by: Greg. on July 21, 2013, 03:06:54 PM
Wondering if anyone might recognise this frosted pressed glass bowl, which is depicted in either an anemone or pansy flower design.

Measures 10.75 inches in diameter and 3.5 inches tall. Weighs 1547 grams.

Plenty of age related wear to the underside. My initial thoughts are possibly c.1930s French, all thoughts welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Schwieg, Mueller & Co. of Germany would be my guess; it's very like their roses bowl http://www.pressglas-korrespondenz.de/aktuelles/pdf/pk-2006-4w-blomfield-schale-rosen.pdf

Could it be related to this one?

Thanks for taking a look Christine and Anne.  :)

I must say I'm impressed with your memory Anne.  :) Comparing the bowls in both posts, I would say they are certainly related.  The detail in the flowers and foliage are an exact match.

I can also see some resemblances with my bowl to the Schwieg Mueller & Co roses bowl, stylistically. Out of interest, would Schwieg Mueller & Co fit with the bowl in the other thread?

Very interesting indeed, thank you both.
