Title: Leerdam? Scandinavian? Murano? ID Help Please!
Post by: glasshopper on July 21, 2013, 05:50:34 PM
dear specialists and glass lovers,

does anyone know who made this perfume? bottle, or tell me the history of this bottle? It's about 12,5cm ( 5 inches) high, heavy glass (paperweight like heavy) Looks like a drop of water , also the lid.
It looks marvelous to me, beautiful.

many thanks from Holland.

Hiya welcome to the show. Yours is a thickwalled vase with clear casing which could have originated almost anywhere - though Holland is unlikely. The perfume dipper is a regular feature on glass from Italy and Malta - but it may not be original. It may just be a "Mariage" as the dimensions seem to be out for a hanging dipper.

We would like to see the underside - the quality of the finish tells us a lot.

hello Ivo,

here are two pictures of the underside of the bottle. I know it's an old bottle and the dipper is original, not a marriage.

all suggestions or knowledge is welcome.

Pretty bottle.
Is the bottle clear over green with blue as well or is that just a light reflection around the rim/mouth of the bottle.
I can't see any age wear on your base pics so was wondering how you know it is old please? And also how you know the stopper is original to the bottle?
Also, it's difficult to tell from the base pics but is the base very very highly shiny and see through?  it looks a little blurry to me, not quite highly polished the same as the walls of the piece for example, but it's difficult to tell from photographs sometimes :)

it is only clear over green en i know it's old, because the old lady i bought it from, told me it was hér mother's perfume/scent bottle and also told me that the dipper is original.  The base is not so shiny as the rest of the bottle. I don't know what blurry means, but it's not polished as the walls are. But also not raw finished.
You said; pretty bottle, I think it's beautiful in all its simplicity. Very decorative.
