Title: Tortoiseshell vase with chartreuse
Post by: Joscyn on July 22, 2013, 10:04:18 PM
I wonder if anyone (Ivo? as you have been so helpful?) can help with this large tortoiseshell vase?  It is thick and measures 30.5cm (high) by 7.5cm (diameter).
I thought it was simply tortoiseshell until I got it home and could see a chartreuse swirled through it visible most at the base and in the body as little tiny spots mostly on two sides.
I hope the pictures might help but, as a beginner, I am not always taking the best shots.
Yours sincerely,
Ian

Your vase would have been made in the mid or late 1970s and it is quite a tall example.

A few more examples of Mdina tortoiseshell in this album including a shorter square version of your (round) vase: https://picasaweb.google.com/Johnmj100/LaterMdinaGlass
