Hello everybody:
I was wondering if anyone could provide me with any information about this little lidded box. I was told that it is flint glass, and that it glows under a black light (I haven't tried it myself). I was also told that it is a powder box. It is not marked. I like the pattern and would someday like to purchase matching pieces, but this is obviously impossible if I don't know the maker. Any info would be appreciated!

Hi there, sorry for the late reply. Flint is usually just another term for clear or uncoloured glass. I doubt it would glow under Black Light, that type of glass is called uranium or vaseline or some pearline glass, which tends to be green or yellow/green.
I don't recognise your pot, but please add the size and pic of the underside if you can. :)

Old/older (and sometimes newer) clear glass will give a dull yellowish green glow under UV. This is caused by the manganse decoloriser. People in the US often use it as an indicator of age (particularly American brilliant cut glass) but it's only a hint not a given
