Title: Small 'toilet set' come carafe ?
Post by: keith on July 31, 2013, 02:26:20 PM
The bottle is 5 inches high the beaker 2.5,polished pontil mark on the bottle, lots of wear, the beaker has had a hard life and I'm surprised the two are still together,I presume it's some unknown Bohemian maker, ::) ;D ;D

sorry, can't help with attribution Keith - looks good though.                Might this be mid C19 'vitrified' or perhaps 'alabaster' glass  -  Manley says that alabaster is the heavier of the two, due to there being less lead in vitirified.            You could well be correct with Bohemian  -  it seems difficult to tell the difference between European and British.           Maybe the style of decoration will help to determine if Continental or not.
Do you have any pieces of the above sorts with which to compare??
