hi all,
i bought this unusual red bowl from a whitefriars dealer at a fair some time ago and found it very unusual, he told me he got it from a worker at whitefriars many years ago and it was a trial production piece, the colour looks spot on for friars and i took him at his word, any of you friars experts out there seen anything like it before?
it looks like a hanging salt bowl but no hole in the hanging bit, so as a trial may not have been finished off?
14 cm diameter x 16 cm high at the longest point.
any expert advice is appreciated
thanks in advance
Steve from Leeds UK.

Even for a trial piece, I don't think the base would be left roughly sanded like that. That would make me suspect it's Chinese, Indian or Mexican.

i got about 6 other pieces at the same time and all were 100% whitefriars so i had no reason to doubt him

Hi Steve, not something I have come across either mate.
Cheers Chris

I also had no reason to doubt a Whitefriars collector when I bought a jug off him. Turned out to be Polish. :-\
