2.75 inches high with a small polished pontil mark, could be ?

I'm really curious to see what this one turns out to be.
I wondered if it might be French? the way the colour is laid on in a sort of regular splotchy pattern is somehow very French looking to me, but not sure about the rather large random bubbles to be honest... so I'm probably wrong.
Any chance of a straight side on shot, no flash, against a white background please? and one of the base clearly showing the pontil mark, or is that the pontil mark the whole base of the bowl? I just couldnt' see any flat area around the pontil mark.
thanks :)

I'm tempted to make a comment about Pyrex - the shape is correct, but it's not a pattern I recognise!
(ok, I'm off... :-[ )

Pyrex? :o not like the pyrex I remember, ;D ;D, the pontil mark is small and surrounded by lots of scratches, can't get a better picture, new camera ::),the colour is very close to as it is in natural light, ;D ;D

It looks in your first pics as if it has the correct rim for a Pyrex bowl.
On a more serious note, I might be considering Schneider.

I wondered if it might have been one of those Nazeing pieces with a rolled rim - we had one the other day from Rob - but the shape of the rim doesn't appear substantial enough.
That aside it doesn't match any Nazeing shape I can see in the book, although the colour isn't too far removed from one of their lilacs - it could be something unrecorded I suppose, but unlikely.
Did Pyrex make this colour - I've not seen it if they did, and if from that factory wouldn't it have the kite mark thingy or whatever the motif is - I'm sure it's not from them. Makes me think of a finger bowl Keith. Have you compared the bubbles with your other Nazeing pieces? :)

Paul, Pyrex is made from that very specific heat-resistant sort of glass, I was just being ridiculous. Apologies!
-
that's right - ridicule a simple country lad - wot chance do I stand against you sofisticated wimmin. Well, how am I to know - the world of glass contains diverfe products................it might have been. Huh. ;)
