Hi everyone.
I have this lovely rather large dome paperweight, totally unlabeled, but to my (inexperienced) eye, it seems like a European maker.
I would greatly appreciate any help.

I think these are modern Chinese
-
In other words, junk?
I really appreciate the response, thank you Lustrous

Definitely modern Chinese, and yes I am afraid you put it perfectly Bob!

But not "junk" to those who collect such things.
A good collection of can be made, on a restricted budget, of the various modern Chinese items with their variations of animals etc.

These lizard paperweights were a special commission for the British Heart Foundation about 15 years ago, they were made in their thousands and sold their charity shops nationwide in the UK, the original price was £4.99.

Exactly Ian - beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
It is important too to distinguish between artistic merit and political bias. There are paperweights out there that, if labelled 'Made in China' are derided (especially in the US) - yet the identical pieces with 'Murano' labels are deemed collectable. No logic in it.
