I wonder if anyone can put a makers name on this piece for me please? It is  8 inches tall. Thanks in advance

I think No is the short answer. It's almost on impossible to pin these down to a country let alone a maker. It's late 19th/early20th C and perhaps English or maybe Bohemian.
